MAPUSA: A police constable attached to Mapusa police station suffered minor injuries in a fight with a local social activist, Friday late evening.
In his complaint to Mapusa police, activist Shekhar said that when he was halting on his two-wheeler at a place in Mapusa due to traffic jam, Constable Sajo Desai was trying to overtake him on a scooter. And when Shekhar asked Desai to have patience in view of the traffic jam, “he started using abusive language against me and later started assaulting me,” Shekhar said.
However, in his complaint, Desai has alleged that Shekhar verbally abused him before assaulting with fist blows and an iron rod. The Mapusa police have registered an offence under section 324, 504 and 506 (ii) of IPC.
