PONDA: A speeding container truck on Thursday landed on a divider along the Dhavlim-Farmagudi National Highway after the driver lost control of the vehicle. However, the cleaner was injured while the driver had a lucky escape.

According to the sources, the accident took place in the afternoon when the truck driver was proceeding to Margao.
The locals said the driver, who was under the influence of alcohol, lost control of the vehicle and later rammed into the divider.
The locals said the tyres on the right side of the vehicle burst and the truck landed on the divider or else it could have led to a major tragedy if the vehicle were to fall off the flyover as roadside vendors were conducting business near the underpass.
