PANJIM: The government on Thursday withdrew the controversial circular it had issued on Wednesday following the confusion it created in political circles.
The withdrawal has cleared the confusion as the circular had directed that all files and correspondence has to be sent to Power Minister.
The amended circular by Under Secretary GA-I states, “In supersession of the circular of even No 45/3/2017-GAD-III/Cir (part dated 13/11/2018, read in the preamble and in modification of circular dated 17/10/2018, all the Secretaries/Addl Secretaries/Joint Secretaries/Under Secretaries to Government/Secretariat Department/Head of Department/ Offices/ Corporations/Autonomous bodies are hereby informed that all the files, correspondence and all other official matters addressed/marked to the Hon’ble Minister for Power, pertaining to the Business of Government allocated to him, shall hereinafter be addressed to and will be dealt at the Office of the Hon’ble Minister for Power.”
Earlier, the government had issued a circular which directed that all official correspondence be addressed and diverted to the Power Minister. This had kicked up a major controversy as it had not gone down well with ministers.
