MARGAO: Deputy Superintendent of Police Serafin Dias on Friday assured a delegation of people including MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco that the five youngsters who assaulted Vishash Gaurav on Monday last will be also charged with attempt to murder.
A delegation of people had called on the DySP to complain that the Fatorda police have not even arrested the accused despite the fact that they assaulted Vishash so badly and left him bleeding on the roadside.
It may be recalled that Vishwash who resides in Davorlim was travelling on his two-wheeler and when he reached Borda he had an altercation with five persons who were travelling on three motorcycles.
The arguments resulted in the five assaulting him and he had a puncture wound on his head where he was apparently hit with a key or some other sharp object. The five persons have evaded arrest till date and Dias has assured that action would be taken against them shortly.
“We have already recoded the statement of the victim and police will arrest the five as we have identified them,” Dias said.
