PANJIM: The Goa police have booked 17 motorists for using inted glasses in their vehicles during checking carried out in view of Lok Sabha elections scheduled on May 7.
“In view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in the State of Goa and enforcement of Model Code of Conduct, consistent ‘nakabandi’ was maintained in North Goa District on March 19, 2024, Tuesday. A total of 425 vehicles were checked and 17 cases against vehicles having tinted glasses were booked,” North Goa Superintendent of Police Akshat Kaushal, IPS, said on X (formerly Twitter).

The SP also said that on March 20, 2024, Wednesday, the state police staged an area domination flag march in the Valpoi Police Station jurisdiction in Honda-Pissurlem and Valpoi market and surrounding areas.
The police have intensified checking and are carrying out flag marches in different jurisdictions of police stations across the State in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
