PANJIM: Inspector General of Police Jaspal Singh has informed that for the first time the police personnel on duty have been given an additional Rs 400 per day as food allowance.
“We have already given food allowance to every personnel on poll duty so that they can arrange the type of food they wish to have, so that there should not be any compromise faced by the personnel while executing their duty. Personnel have been paid through ECS an amount of Rs 800 for two days of duty for food”, he said.
A senior officer informed that during the training process they were informed that the food allowance would be paid and accordingly make their food arrangements.
He said every individual personnel has the freedom to choose what type and from where the food can be sourced.
