The investigation team had cracked the kidnapping of 87-year-old Natividade ‘Nettie’ Teodora Fernandes with the arrest of Chandrakant Bheese and Prathamesh ‘Narayan’ Naik. However, Patra, her caretaker and prime accused in the case, managed to the give the police the slip.
“We moved the court seeking a non-bailable warrant against him, which was granted,” Porvorim PI Jivba Dalvi said.
Patra, the victim’s caretaker had conspired with the two jail inmates to kill the woman after cheating her of Rs 9 lakh cash and jewellery worth more than Rs 8 lakh in May.
