The Panjim Police are suspecting a one-sided love-angle to the suicide case of the 23-year-old student from the Goa College of Architecture, in his hostel room on Sunday morning.
According to the Panjim police, Shantam Datta, a native of West Bengal had written a suicide note which clears the one-sided love affair.
Panjim police said that the student left behind a note which stated, I am going away from life. Nobody is responsible.’
Police said the boys parents arrived today and took custody of the body.
The post-mortem conducted proved the cause of death was due to hanging, police said.
The incident came to light yesterday after the boy did not turn up for break fast in the hostel mess.
Datta was studying in the final year of the five-year architecture course and his academic performance is also being probed for further leads into the case, police said.
