PANJIM: In a major reshuffle of police personnel, SP (security) Vijay Singh has been transfered as SP (South), while SP (South) Shekhar Prabhudesai has been posted as SP (security), in a slew of transfers, ahead of the LS elections.
Two DySPs are among 20 police personnel transferred, through an order issued by Goa Police on Monday. Panjim SDPO Mahesh Gaonkar has replaced Mapusa SDPO Serafin Dias who in turn has been sent to Panjim.
Among the 11 police inspectors transferred are, Ninad Deulkar from Bicholim police station to Vasco PS. Rupendra Shetgaonkar has been transferred to Bicholim, from Vasco. Calangute Traffic Cell incharge Rahul Parab has been transferred to Special Investigation Team (SIT), Roy Pereira has been shifted from GRP ‘D’ Coy to Traffic Cell Mapusa, replacing Salim Sheikh who has been transferred to Calangute Traffic Cell. The duties of PI Devendra Gad at GRP ‘B’ Coy and Agassaim PI Uday Parab have been exchanged with each other’s postings.
PI Ravindra Desai, posted at DIU in Margao has been given the charge of Curchorem police station, while PI Rajesh Kumar has been transferred from Verna PS to Calangute PS. PI Vishwesh Karpe has been transferred to Verna PS from Valpoi PTS, whereas Nilesh Rane has been given the charge of the newly set up Saligao PS, from his existing posting at Calangute PS.
Six sub inspectors – Vikram Naik, Terence Vaz, Ramnath Nayak, Melson Colaco, Vijaynath Kavlekar and Arjun Sangodkar and assistant sub inspector Subhash Nagvekar were also transfered by the department.
