MARGAO: Councillor of Margao Municipal Council and TMC leader Mahesh Amonkar on Monday filed his objections before the South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) against the preparation of draft ODP with regards to housing project, and KV sub-station on the municipal acquired land for the purpose of kabrastan at Sonsoddo.
He demanded to revoke the said zone within the next seven days.

“We are shocked that the said land which is acquired for the burial ground for the Muslim community has been shown as orchard, installation of proposed KV sub-station and low cost housing society. We fail to understand on what basis the PDA has shown in the draft ODP the said acquired land for other purpose without having any consultation with the stakeholders,” said Mahesh.
He said great prejudice and hardship will be caused to the Muslims if such proposal is taken forward by the PDA.
The councillor also informed that as per the agreement it is agreed that the government and MMC will develop the land for the kabrastan at Sonsoddo within municipal limits.
