MAPUSA: The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Mapusa on Wednesday asked both – management of St Xavier’s College and the students to amicably settle their issue of inducting new Students Council, even as the Diocesan Society of Education filed an application seeking injunction and to restrain eight students from causing any disturbance with the college campus by way of unlawful gathering.
The JMFC Judge Rina Fernandes told both the parties to arrive at settlement terms before its next hearing fixed on February 14.
The Diocesan Society of Education and the St Xavier’s College have filed a suit against eight students for ad-interim ex-parte relief affording protection to the plaintiffs.
The College management had earlier filed a complaint against students led by general secretary-elect Sahil Mahajan for trespassing into the college campus and creaking ruckus in protest against the failure of the college to induct the newly elected Students Council.
