COVID case count drops to 572, deaths 17

PANJIM: Goa on Thursday reported its lowest daily COVID-19 cases in around two months as the State recorded 572 cases in last 24 hours. 

The total Active cases also dropped to below 10,000 as it stood at 9700.

As per the Health Bulletin released by the Directorate of Health Services, the total new cases has led to further drop in positivity rate to 17.17%. 

A total of 17 persons lost their lives in the last 24 hours. Of these, 10 patients died at Goa Medical College and Hospital, two at South Goa District Hospital, one at ESI Hospital and two each at a South Goa Private Hospital and North Goa Private Hospital. Among the total deaths, two hailed from Karwar and Sindhudurg. 

The past 24 hours also saw 1695 Recoveries taking the Recovery rate to 92.14 percent. 

The State had last reported lowest 602 daily cases on May 31 as cases declined to below 1,000 since one week.
