MARGAO: We for Fatorda and Dr Milind Desai Clinic on Saturday launched COVID-19 Counselling and Support Service Facility along with dedicated ambulance service by Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai and Dr Milind Desai.
Speaking to the media persons after the launch, Dr Milind called upon all to put in their efforts to correct the mistakes that have been done in the past in handling COVID-19 pandemic situation.
“The persons who have COVID infection and are asymptomatic staying in isolation at home will be given moral reassurance as they are going through immense stress,” he said.
GFP President Vijai said, “We are giving reassurance with scientific backing and not by making sweeping statements of lies. Our idea is to reach these facilities to the persons who are the lowest in the strata of economy. Deaths and cases have to be reduced and finish.”
“GFP had their original plan to start COVID-19 antigen testing but because of the restriction of the allowance for testing to some hospitals the testing facility couldn’t be started.”
“We will attempt to reach maximum people, the ones who are downtrodden, homeless, and elders,” said Vijai.
He said that if the government is not going to give a dedicated COVID Care Centre for Fatorda then it is an injustice to the people of Fatorda.
“I don’t want to hold a protest for that,” he added.
