PANJIM: Stating that ‘we are passing through such a big disaster of Coronvirus pandemic and fight against it is on’, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Thursday urged all those from grass root level to extend their cooperation to control the COVID-19 cases which are increasing day-by-day.
Charing a monsoon preparedness meeting of State Disaster Management Authority Sawant suggested to start awareness among the people underscored the need to focus more on COVID management and to take necessary measures if required. Early detection, proper treatment and taking the medicines prescribed in SOPs will help to arrest the spread of pandemic thus saving lives of people, he said.
The Chief Minister urged the officials to be proactive with regard to COVID management in the State.
Sawant directed the authorities to initiate steps in advance to tackle disaster of any sort during monsoon. He suggested to make provision of water pumps for areas which are vulnerable to floods. “Take proper precautions towards the areas which are vulnerable to landslide. Make stand-by arrangement wherever required. Let’s take care and be well prepared to face any situation to ensure people don’t suffer,” he said.
