Warns guilty will be sent to Colvale jail

PORVORIM: Claiming that the State’s Crime Branch has been asked to file an FIR and investigate the mining scam, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said those found guilty will be sent to Colvale jail, which will be ready by then.
Parrikar was speaking at booth workers’ Melava organised by Saligao BJP Mandal at Unity Hall, Saligao.
“I have not stopped mining operations in the State. Justice M B Shah Commission was appointed by the Congress party to investigate into mining activities and based on the report submitted by it, the Supreme Court imposed ban on mining operations in Goa,” he said.
“The Director for Mines and Geology has already filed a complaint with the State Crime Branch in regard to mining scam and has asked the latter to file an FIR and investigate charges made in the three reports of Shah Commission, Supreme Court’s Central Empowered Committee and Public Account Committee. Those found guilty will be sent to Colvale jail, which will be ready by then,” said Parrikar.
Parrikar further said an MP from Goa could not become a minister during the rule of Congress-led UPA government for the last 10 years.
“If BJP comes to power at the Centre, there is every possibility that Goan BJP MP will become a minister and Goa also stands a chance of getting special status and good financial package for the development of infrastructure,” said Parrikar and appealed all the booth workers to work hard to get North Goa BJP candidate Shripad Naik elected.
Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar stated that the BJP government has launched several social schemes for the benefit of women. “In Saligao constituency, 1097 women are the beneficiaries of Griha Adhar scheme and 250 girls availed the benefit Ladli Laxmi scheme,” he informed.
“Every month, an amount of Rs 88 lakh is being disbursed in Saligao constituency under various social schemes. BJP government works for the upliftment of the poor people,” added Parulekar.
Shripad Naik said during the last 15 years, he has financed 700 projects. In the survey conducted by ‘India Today’ magazine, Goa stood 31st among 545 constituencies in India in regard to utilization of MPLAD funds. I joined politics to serve people and not to make money,” said Naik.
