Kidnapping of girl

Police Station: Ponda
Incident: Ponda Police registered a complaint against a 23-year-old youth from Ponda for allegedly kidnapping a 16-year-old girl, also from Ponda.
Police informed that the incident was reported on June 1 and the complaint was lodged by the girl’s mother on June 3 against the accused.
Police suspected a possible love angle in the case.
Status of Investigation: Police arrested the accused and the girl was handed to the parents. According to Ponda Police, the accused and the girl were in Belguam and had refused to come to Goa when police contacted them over the phone.
Later, police arrested the accused in Belgaum.
