PONDA: Bhika Kerkar and Sharmila Sangaonkar were on Wednesday elected unopposed as Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch of Curti-Khandepar Panchayat, respectively.
The posts fell vacant after Sarpanch Gurudas Khedekar and Deputy were voted out last week.

The 11-member panchayat got its eight sarpanch in Bhika within four-and-half years.
Criticising a former sarpanch over development works, Kerkar said, “Around files pertaining to 20 development works went missing from the panchayat office. I will probe into the matter and will file a complaint after discussing with panchas and the secretary.”
