Cyber cafes reminded of directions

PANJIM: The North Goa District Magistrate has renewed directions to owners of cyber cafes to record the identity of every visitor, failing which criminal action would be initiated against the owner.

PANJIM: The North Goa District Magistrate has renewed directions to owners of cyber cafes to record the identity of every visitor, failing which criminal action would be initiated against the owner. 
“The owners of the cyber cafe should prohibit the use of cyber cafe by unknown person and whose identity has not been established by the owner of the cafe. H/she should maintain a register for identity of the visitor/user. He/she should get an entry in the handwriting of the visitor/user mentioning name, address, telephone number and identity proof,” directions say.
The district magistrate has also asked the owners to ensure that activity server log is preserved in the main server and that its record be preserved for at least six months.
