The stretch of road from Ravindra Bhavan Circle towards Fatorda Stadium poses a great danger to the commuters and pedestrians. This is because of the large ditches on the side of the road.
The recent accident on Monday where a car crashed into a cross on the side of the road and then fell into the deep ditch on the side of the road exposed the risk the public face.
The road is being used by many pedestrians and sportspersons who visit the Fatorda stadium and the sports grounds opposite the stadium. During the games at the stadium the traffic on the road is immense and the risk of anyone falling in the ditch by accident is high.
Furthermore due to the micro tunnel digging of the road to lay 4G cables, the surface of the road has a lot of dents and mini potholes as the gaps have been exposed due to wear and tear. This makes it extremely dangerous for two wheelers that face the risk of getting their tyres locked in between these mini pothole and they can just skid of the road and fall into the ditch.
There is also access on the main road to the joggers track. There is a big need for railings to be erected on the side of the road to prevent accidents in the future. This is a serious matter of public health and safety.
