PONDA: The students of Davshirem Primary School withdrew their indefinite strike on Thursday following assurance from the Education Director Gajanan Bhat to bring back the teacher who was undergoing BLO training in the Mamlatdar Office.
Bhat also assured the 93 students and their parents that the school will get four regular teachers besides a para teacher for English subject.
The Education Director rushed to the spot Thursday with one teacher and another para teacher to convince the parents, who were agitating with their children and assured to bring back the teacher, who was undergoing BLO training in the Mamlatdar’s office,
He further informed the teacher, who had gone on leave will join within a week and thus school will get 4 regular teachers besides a para teacher to teach them English and five teachers will provided to teach these 93 students.
The parents and students expressed happiness over the Education Director’s assurance.
It may be recalled that Davshirem Primary School students had submitted a memorandum to Education Department demanding four teachers to their school in August. But Education Department failed to do so as a result of which 93 students and their parents went on indefinite strike and boycotted classes.
