PANJIM: The second day of schools, on Monday, saw better attendance by students of Classes X and XII. ADEIs conducted surprise inspections at various schools to gauge the response as well as the implementation of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
After nearly six months since the commencement of Academic Year 2020-21, physical classes for students of X and XII partially reopened from Saturday. On day one, around 10,000 students across the State had attended the classes.

Sources in the Education Department said that students, as well as parents, are gaining confidence to attend classes. “Compared to Saturday, the response was good on the second day. Nearly 60 per cent students attended the classes,” sources said.
School managements are expecting more students to attend in the coming days. In the meantime, the online classes will continue simultaneously.
Sources said that ADEIs were asked to conduct surprise inspections to check the attendance, hygiene, sanitisation and implementation of other guidelines as per SOP. “The ADEIs are directed to submit the report for review,” sources said.
Education Director Santosh Amonkar also visited some schools.
