The committee, headed by Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, is also expected to give its approval for permitting structures on agricultural, cultivable and orchard lands for the declared purpose of ‘promoting agricultural activities’.
On January 29, TCP had issued a notice calling for suggestions and recommendations in regards to its draft regulations proposed to be made under sub-section (1) and (2) of the Goa (Regulation of Land Development and Building Construction) Act, 2008.
Chief Town Planner S T Putturaju told Herald that the draft notification, kept for suggestion and objection, would be placed before the steering committee for its final approval. He said, “If the steering committee grants its approval, all the regulations will be notified and ready for implementation by end of this month.”

The amendment was also sought to provide an additional 20 percent FAR to the permissible FAR, to educational institutions recognized by the education department, Goa University, University Grants Commission (UGC), and All India Institute of Technical Education.
A relaxation was also sought to be given for construction, re-construction or repair of houses belonging to tribal people under the Atal Asra Yojna, for the welfare of Goa’s tribal people.
