PANJIM: A delegation consisting of industrialists and tourism stakeholders are expected to visit Israel next month to learn about rural tourism, dairy farming and agriculture.
A 40-member delegation would be leaving for Israel in the first week of July on a five-day trip organized by government of Israel. The Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is leading the delegation is also contemplating the possibility of signing joint ventures with the Israeli firms to set up dairy industries in Goa.
While interacting with media persons, GCCI’s outgoing President Manguirish Pai Raikar said that the delegation would be visiting Israel to study the concept of rural tourism and dairy farming in that country.
Raikar whose tenure ends June 30 said that the visit, which was scheduled earlier this month, was cancelled due to elections in Israel, adding that Goa has the potential to develop rural tourism, by introducing adventures such as trekking, hiking, angling and other indigenous activities.
