PONDA: Stating that the restrictions on VPK Urban Society have been imposed to protect the interests of depositors and shareholders, Cooperation Minister Govind Gaude informed them that their money is safe and the restrictions will be removed within three months.
Addressing media persons, he said, “The BoD term of the Society ended in May. Further due to COVID pandemic, the polls to elect the new BoD could not be held and so restrictions were imposed for some time. Some have the habit of take various decisions at the end of term and to avoid this, restrictions have been imposed to ensure that around 250 employees of VPK don’t lose their jobs and to protect the hard earned money of depositors and shareholders.”
Urging the depositors to avoid queues, Gaude said their money is safe and informed that he is closely associated with VPK and many shareholders and depositors are calling him via phone.
He asked them not to panic and urged them to cooperate with the VPK staff and get their doubts on the restrictions cleared with the MD.
He said the Registrar also brought to my attention certain aspects of the society which are being examined.
