Devotional songs apart from providing entertainment, give solace to the mind and have the capacity to change the mindset of the people to keep them away from social evils and other unproductive activities, said Speaker Pratapsingh Rane at the Bhakti Sangeet Samaroh held at Keri in Sattari taluka, recently.
The Bhakti Sangeet Samaroh was organised by Kala Academy in association with Western Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur.
Speaking further Rane said that India possesses great traditional culture which we have inherited from great saint and sages. This age old culture needs to be preserved and kept alive for posterity and appealed to the people to strive for its enrichment.
Adv Devdatta Parulekar, Keynote speaker on Bhakti Sangeet, Pandurang Phaldesai, Member Secretary Kala Academy, Govind Kale Programme Officer spoke on the occasion.
Suman Gawas, ZP Member, Ganpat Gawas President, Ajoba Devastan were present on the occasion.
Sanjiv Zarmekar compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
