DFDA recruitment process hailed

MARGAO: GOACAN welcomed the staff recruitment process by the Directorate of Food and Drug Administration (DFDA) as it will directly benefit the opening of a full-fledged DFDA office in South Goa.

The DFDA advertisement calling for online applications for 65 posts will directly benefit the South Goa District as over 20 of these staff will be located in South Goa.

It may be noted that the recruitment process for 19 Food Safety Officers, 11 Assistant Chemist (Food), 8 Assistant Chemist (Drugs), 7 Pharmacist, 4 Laboratory Assistant, 1 Junior Stenographer, 8 Lower Division Clerks, 2 Drivers, and 5 Multi-Tasking Staff has begun with the advertising for these posts.

The South Goa District which comprises the seven talukas of Salcete, Ponda, Mormugao, Quepem, Sanguem, Dharbandora and Canacona will directly benefit from the opening of the fully furnished office located at the old Collectorate building near the Post Office, here.

The regular inspections and booking of violations of the Food Safety and Standards Regulations as laid down by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), the guidance to Food Business Operators for their registration and the awareness programmes to be conducted under the Eat Right India initiative in schools and higher secondary schools will get a fillip with the opening of the South Goa Office.
