Two councillors from the panel, Damodar Shirodkar and Sagun alias Dada Naik have expressed their readiness to take the charge if the opportunity is given to them. However, the decision maker will be the Margao MLA, who is yet to deliberate on the issue.

Sources informed that Kamat will call a meeting of his councillors after the Ganesh Chaturthi.

At the moment, the MLA has not hinted nor intimated anything on the issue to his councillors and all are waiting for his call to discuss and decide about the post of chairperson.

It is pertinent to note that as per the verbal agreement between Goa Forward Party (GFA) President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai, and Kamat, Lyndon Pereira resigned from the post of chairperson on August 27, as his 15 months terms ended.
