Digambar promises support to non-conventional energy

Saying that solar energy is the most important source of all the renewable energy sources, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat has promised all support and encouragement to non-conventional sources of energy.
Inaugurating the Nuetech Solar Shoppe at Sirvodem-Navelim, Kamat said that solar energy is the most important source of all the renewable energy sources like wind and others. “These sources can be easily tapped for power generation and energy conservation”, Kamat said.
Former Minister, Matanhy Saldanha said that Solar Energy is the future and every one should whole heartedly adopt Solar enegy. “Goa has a lot of potential for Solar Energy, but only a comprehensive strategy including availability of the Solar Energy Devices, User-friendly financing mechanisms, good after-sale-services will ensure popularisation of Solar Energy”, he added.
Margao Municipal Chairperson, Savio Coutinho said that the Margao Municipal Council has already started adopting Solar Energy and has installed Solar Street Lights surrounding municipal offices and in the Margao Municipal Gardens. “We will encourage large scale installation of Solar Energy Devices”, he added.
Quepem MLA, Chandrakant Kavlekar, former Quepem Municipal Chairpersons Manuel Colaco and Teresa Travasso were also present. The Solar Shoppee was blessed by Fr Francis Pereira of Navelim Church.
Owner of Neutech Solar Shoppee Ajay Pereira said the company offers complete range of top quality solar energy devises, including solar water heaters and Solar Photovoltaic (lighting) systems. The company has promised to arrange soft loan from the government to the users, besides assistance to avail subsidies.
