PANJIM: The Diocesan Pastoral Council (DPC), the most representative body of the Catholic Church in Goa, will be having its third quarterly meeting for this Pastoral Year on January 27 at Lar de Estudantes, Altinho-Panjim.
These meetings are coordinated by the Executive Committee of the Diocesan Pastoral Council. This will be the first meeting for the newly elected Executive Committee of the Diocesan Pastoral Council that was elected through secret ballot at the last DPC meeting in November 2012. The newly elected office bearers for the next three years are: Maria Helena Souza from Calangute as the Moderator, Clive Gracias from Chinchinim as the Vice-Moderator, Cynthia Clemente from Curtorim as the Secretary, Cajetan Fernandes from Carmona as the Asst Secretary, John Paul Noronha from Aldona as the Treasurer and Cecundita Picardofrom Piedade-Divar as the Asst Treasurer.
Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao, is the ex-Officio President of the Body while Fr Anthony Fernandes, Executive Secretary of the Diocesan Pastoral Secretariat and Fr, Jean da Cruz Fernandes, Director of the Diocesan Centre for Lay Apostolate, are the other Ex-Officio members of the Executive Committee.
The following are the outgoing members of the Executive Committee: Havelock Ferrao from Varca (moderator), Magdalena D’Souza from Pilerne (vice-moderator), Nifa Coelho from Revora (secretary), Darryl Abranches from Salvador do Mundo (asst secretary), Lisa Pereira from Ribandar (treasurer) and Edward Fernandes from Mormugao (Asst Treasurer).
