PANJIM: Barely two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of third Mandovi Bridge, a rejected bidder for the bridge project has filed a petition before the High Court of Bombay at Goa alleging his firm was wrongfully disqualified by Goa government.
In its writ petition, M/s S P Singla Constructions Pvt Ltd argued that Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation finalized Chennai based Larsen & Toubro despite it being eligible for the project. The matter has been adjourned for July 9.
The government, on the other hand, submitted that the company had failed to furnish certificate of experience and neither did it suggest a design expert, which is why its tender was rejected.
The proposed bridge will be a cable-stayed bridge and constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 466 crore.
