PORVORIM: The South Goa District Hospital to be completed by March 31 with the government considering running some of the departments on public private partnership (PPP), Health Minister Vishwajit Rane told House on Friday.
In a written reply tabled on the Floor of the House, Rane said that the project work has been delayed due to various reasons including layout changes and refloating of tenders due to poor response.
“The current target date of completion of the hospital is March 31, 2020,” Rane said in a joint question tabled by Goa Forward Party MLAs Vijai Sardesai, Jayesh Salgaonkar, Vinod Paliencar and BJP MLA Wilfred D’Sa.
He said that proposal to run any departments/sections of the hospital on PPP partnership is under consideration.
Minister said that due to additional requirements, changes-cum-modifications had to be carried out as per the requests of the Directorate of Health Services and Hospicio Hospital Margao.
He said that as per the requirements of the Directorate changes were required to be done in NICU, OPD area, Dialysis, OT, Labour Room.
Also, the layout of Blood Bank had to be changed as per the requirements of the Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), he said adding that there were revisions in the interior layout of basement and ground floor.
“In some tenders, there has been poor response, due to which these tenders have been refloated. Also there was delay in submission of invoices of specialised jobs by the vendors due to implementation of GST,” he said.
