PANJIM: The Anti Narcotics Cell sleuths arrested a Japanese disc jockey for illegally possessing drugs, during a raid carried out between late Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
The 50-year-old man identified as Yasuji Hinagata was found with 568 grams of charas and 1.81 grams of liquid LSD, estimated at Rs 8.09 lakh in the international market.
According to senior officials, the sleuths had received a tip off that one tall man of wheatish complexion, medium built and aged about 45 to 50 years would come on a black scooter GA-03-T-9811 to deliver Narcotics to his prospective customer near Vagator football ground.
Accordingly a team was formed and a trap was laid to catch him red-handed. The raiding team apprehended him and seized 568 grams of charas (worth Rs 85,200), 1.81 grams of liquid LSD (valued at Rs 7.24 lakh) and Rs 900 in cash.
The accused has been playing music in different clubs in the North Goa, will be produced before the JMFC Mapusa for remand. The team is verifying the kind of visa he possesses.
