PANJIM: The Directorate of Education (DoE) has asked all the teaching and non-teaching staff, above age of 45 years, to get vaccinated at the earliest.
A circular in this regard has been issued to heads of government, government-aided and unaided primary, middle, secondary, higher secondary and special schools in the State.

The circular, attached with a COVID-19 vaccination advisory issued by the State government on April 7, has directed all the employees above 45 years of age, irrespective of having any co-morbidity or not, to vaccinate themselves at the earliest by visiting the nearby vaccination centres.
The Director Education D R Bhagat has asked schools for needful action on the advisory.
“Vaccination is a safe way to build protection and hence an important tool to stop the pandemic,” the advisory mentioned.
The direction comes as the Education Department is gearing up for the Academic Year 2021-22, which, according to earlier schedule, is set to commence from June 21.
In view of ongoing pandemic, the DoE is expected to move a file to government, next week, to decide on the conduct of mode of academic year- whether online or offline.
