This was conveyed to GPCC President Luizinho Faleiro when the members of Sanguem block called on him, recently. Those who called on Luizinho include GPCC member Joaquim D’Costa, Block President Dr Revansidh Naik, Vice President Shrikant Naik, Sanguem Seva Dal chief Jose Fernandes, Jervis Fernandes and John D’Costa.
, Marcus Mascarenhas, Agusto Fernandes, Dadi Karmalkar, Uday Naik and party workers.
The members urged Luizinho not to allot the Sanguem ticket to NCP under any circumstance.
According to the press note issued by Block President Dr Revansidh Naik, the members told Faleiro that during the last assembly election the constituency was given to NCP without consulting the Congress workers and as a result the seat was lost to BJP.
“Party President Faleiro assured the delegation that this time, the constituency would not be given to NCP and the ticket would be given to a Congress candidate and urged the workers to remain united to get the candidate elected as it was a Congress constituency earlier,” Naik said in the press note.
Faleiro also reportedly urged the delegation that called on him to get the resolution passed in this regard during the block meeting.
