“The civic body will take all precautions to ensure that the general public in general and the senior citizens in particular, do not feel insecure over the movement of the workers. Instructions will also be issued to the municipal workers supervising the door-to-door waste collection work to take responsibility of the casual workers engaged for the work,” Sawant said.
Door-to-door scheme risks
Chief Officer Narayan Sawant assured the senior citizens that the civic body would provide uniforms and also issue identity cards to all the workers engaged for door-to-door waste collection.
