MARGAO: Former Vasco Police Inspector Braz Menezes was recently examined by the Additional District and Sessions court in connection with the murder of Naresh Dourado, 25, at Chicalim where an 18-year-old was arrested.
This murder had taken place on August 1, 2010 and police had registered a case under Sections 449, 397 and 302 of the IPC.
Menezes told the court that upon receiving information he had rushed to the spot and seen Dourado lying on the floor in a pool of blood. There were three sharp injury marks on his neck. The PI identified the muddemal attached under panchanama.
At the spot, knives, blood-stained clothes, bottles, cigarette ash were found and attached under panchanama. The court has examined 54 witnesses in the case.
Public prosecutor Subhash Dessai appeared on behalf of the State.
Dourado was murdered in his elder brother’s flat at Chicalim where he had gone to spend the night alone. He was found dead in the flat while his car, laptop and cellphone were missing. The car was later found abandoned in Taleigao.
