DABOLIM: Dreamliner, one of the biggest wide bodied aircraft in the world, landed at Dabolim Airport on Sunday morning with 391 passengers from London.
This is for the first time that a wide bodied aircraft is being handled by the Airport Authority of India at Dabolim.
Officials of Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) informed that the wide bodied aircraft is handled by Thomson Company, a British chartered agency. “With the landing of Boeing 787, a new dimension will be opened for British tourists in the State,” added the official.
“AAI was averse to the landing of the aircraft at Dabolim International Airport. When Air India acquired a Dream liner which has successfully made trips to Delhi from Australia, we do not see any reason why AAI were averse for landing of the charter flight at the Dabolim Airport,” stated the TTAG official.
“Such charter flights will not only boost tourism in the State, but also improve the economy of the State which is in dire straits due to ban on mining,” added the official.
The tourists were received by the officials of Goa Tourism Department, AAI and Thomson Company.
