Dreams of casino; reality is brothel

Girls from Nepal are being lured into prostitution, after being falsely promised lucrative jobs in casinos in Goa. According to a recent report in ‘The Himalayan Times’, police in Nepal on Friday arrested four persons for allegedly hatching a plot to traffic 11 girls into India for the purpose of prostitution, with the false promise of lucrative jobs.
The accused have been identified as Jasbir Singh Gell from India, and Pratikshya Pokharel, Uma Giri (Chand) and Sharmila Pandey from Nepal. The girls were assured of good jobs in a casino in Goa. Police rounded up the alleged human traffickers from Kathmandu Resort, Thamel. They have been charged under Human Trafficking Act.
