Drishti Marine lifesavers carried out multiple rescue and assistance operations along Goa’s coastline over the weekend, saving eight people from potentially dangerous situations at various beaches.
In addition to the rescues, the vigilant lifesavers helped apprehend a thief who allegedly stole a bag from a Russian tourist at Betalbatim beach. Their swift action ensured the suspect was caught and the stolen belongings were recovered promptly.
The lifesavers also provided timely first aid to two individuals who required immediate medical attention and successfully traced and reunited two missing children with their families, bringing relief to anxious parents.
Drishti Marine officials said these efforts highlight the lifesavers’ crucial role not only in ensuring beach safety but also in supporting law enforcement and assisting the public, especially during busy weekend footfall along Goa’s popular beaches.
