Drug dealers’ investments being tracked

PANJIM: Enforcement Directorate sleuths are tracking down activities and investments made by drug dealers by flouting money-laundering laws. Action would be initiated against them in due course, the agency said in a statement.

Sources say that over Rs 80 lakh worth investments made by an arrested drug dealer have already been attached under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. Similarly, the agency has seized several documents about his movable and immovable properties and other financial transactions.
Goa, which is relying heavily on tourism, has gained notoriety for narco-tourism along its beach belt.
