PANJIM: In the first of its kind incident, a man wearing a red shirt and black pant was found sleeping on the first Mandovi Bridge. At first the traffic passed by ignoring the man. Then some ‘good Samaritan’ stopped and called the 108 Ambulance service and the Panjim Police PCR van.
When the police PCR van and ambulance arrived, traffic in one lane of the bridge where the man was lying was stopped leading to chaos and huge traffic congestion on both lanes of the bridge.

At first the man was lying motionless. People feared the worst, however, when the ambulance staff attended to him, he was found to be drunk. According to Panjim Police, the 108 Ambulance staff administered first aid to the person and then left him at the Panjim KTC bus stand from where he boarded a bus and went home.
