PANJIM: The Crime Branch is yet to receive an order passed by the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Panjim that directed the agency to register a First Information Report (FIR) against two politicians and two police officers in the dual citizenship case.
The verdict was announced on a petition filed by a local activist alleging that BJP MLA Glen Ticlo, Goa Vikas Party MLA Caetano Silva, Superintendent of Police Jose Allen de Sa (also present ADC to Governor) and Police Inspector Edwin Colaco registered their births in Portugal and hence they are foreigners in India. The petitioner in his petition had urged to deport them.
“We have not received the court order,” DySP Nilu Raut Desai said when asked whether an FIR was registered against the four.
The court has asked the Crime Branch to submit a report within 30 days.
