Section of roads in many parts of Goa have the sign board “Work in progress”. Roads are being repeatedly dug for waterline, sanitary leakages, replacement of cable wire etc. But what happens next?
Dug up roads are left unattended for months. Few layers of mud are laid on the dug area which gradually sags down due to heavy moving vehicles, eventually forming a crater on the road. Motorists to avoid the craters will zig-zag dangerously leading to accidents. Roads are means to connect one place to another but such unrepaired roads connects one directly to God. Also travelling of pregnant ladies and other serious patients becomes dangerous. Even if a tar road does come up it is not strong enough to withstand the rains and is again worn out by the end of the season. Such never ending progress annoys the citizens and also spoils the beauty of the area.
