Duo injured in accident near St Jacinto Island

VASCO: Two persons were injured while eight others had a narrow escape in a car-bus collision near St Jacinto Island on Sunday.

According to the Verna Police, the accident occurred around 10 am, on Sunday when the driver of Maruti Swift car was proceeding towards Vasco from Cortalim. While trying to overtake another car, he lost control and dashed against an oncoming Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) bus near Jacinto Island. 
The impact was such that two of the five car occupants sustained head injuries. 
Five bus passengers and three car occupants had a narrow escape. 
“The KTC bus driver – Rajendra Gawas, in his statement, said the car driver – one Manish Kodali, a native of Nagpur-Maharashtra was trying to overtake another car and when he reached near St Jacinto island, he lost control of the vehicle and dashed against the bus. Due to the impact, two car occupants sustained injuries. 
The duo was admitted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim. One of them was discharged after receiving medical aid, while the other who sustained serious injuries is undergoing treatment,” Verna Police informed.
Police investigations are on.
