MAPUSA: Dy Collector Bardez has called for a meeting of stakeholders in the coastal belt including the hotels, restaurants and bars, shack owners and in-charges of Calangute and Anjuna Police stations regarding violation of noise pollution and loud music.
In a letter to the Police Inspectors of Calangute and Anjuna police stations, Dy Collector Bardez Gurudas Desai has directed them to inform and call all the hotel owners, shack owners, bar & restaurant owners to remain present for the meeting.
“Dy Collector has called out for a meeting with regards to noise pollution in the coastal belt. The meeting is at 11 am in the office of Dy. Collector Mapusa,” Anjuna PI Prashal Desai informed.
The Police Inspectors of Anjuna and Calangute Police Stations are also directed to remain present for the said meeting in person.
It may be recalled that a government-appointed committee to check noise pollution in the coastal belt and complain to the authorities mainly the police, had a big complaint to make – that their complaints were not heard, much less acted upon.
