PANJIM: Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza said he was confident of getting more funds for the State that will help in implementing several projects under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
D’Souza who left for New Delhi, Wednesday evening, said he was confident the centre would provide him with adequate funds in implementing several projects.
“In the past, there were several reasons for projects not being approved of under the JNNURM, some because the plans were not completed properly or because there was a change in the government,” said D’Souza adding that he would try his best in getting the much-needed funds.
Speaking at an event on Wednesday D’Souza also said the Regional Plan would be ready within a couple of months predicting a few months for finalizing, scrutiny and final approval. He also highlighted the need for smart cities to evolve in the State for problem solving to take place.
