MARGAO: Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza on Thursday visited the South Goa District Hospital site and took stock of the work in progress. He has clearly said that he is unhappy with the pace of the work.
While inspecting the work, D’Souza stated that, at the current pace at which it was progressing, the government may not be able to keep its commitment of completing the work by December.
“I have seen the work; the pace is slow and needs to be doubled if we want to inaugurate the hospital on the committed date,” he said.
D’Souza also had a word with the authorities at site and asked them to expedite the work so that the government’s promise was kept and the people of South Goa could benefit from the hospital.
It may be recalled that CM Laxmikant Parsekar, in March, inspected the District Hospital site with GSIDC General Manager Subhash Nage, the project consultant and several others.
