The Government of India has made the e-Arrival Card mandatory for all foreign travellers, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders, from October this year.
The digital card replaces the old paper Disembarkation Card and must be submitted online 72 hours before arrival to ensure faster immigration clearance.

In a video message, former UK MP Keith Vaz stated that the Government of India has clarified its position regarding OCI cardholders under the new Digital Arrival Card Scheme. He said that the Government of India has announced that all foreign nationals, including OCI cardholders visiting India, are now required to fill out the disembarkation card digitally before arrival.
The e-Arrival Card can be filled through the website indiavisaonline.gov.in or via the indiavisa-su-swagatam mobile app. The digital form should be completed up to 72 hours before arrival in India.
“So, OCIs are now required to fill in this digital card before arriving in India. This is an urgent and important update,” Vaz said.
