E-challans for traffic violators from June 1

PANJIM: The state government on Thursday announced that it will operationalise the Intelligent Traffic Management Systems (ITMS) and start issuing e-challans to motorists for violation of traffic rules captured by CCTV cameras from June 1, 2023.

ITMS is part of the Smart City Mission’s ‘Goa Intelligent City Management System’ project.

 Traffic will be monitored electronically through CCTV cameras and e-challans will be issued to violators based on the camera recordings. 

The e-challans along with evidence will be sent by post to the traffic violators’ address, this was informed by Transport Minister MauvinGodinho on the sidelines of a function organized at Bambolim, Thursday.
