PANJIM: Amid coronavirus scare, the Goa Institute of Management (GIM) has announced the postponement of its annual convocation ceremony, which was slated to be held this month.

In a statement issued on Friday, GIM has said that once the dates are confirmed, it will be announced and shared with the students and faculty.
GIM has suspended all student exchange programmes to universities abroad and international internships for now. The institute will assist with identifying summer internship opportunities within the country instead.
“All international travel is to be reviewed and decided upon keeping in mind the travel advisory issued by the central health ministry. Instead remote meeting arrangements using secure, approved technology is advised,” the institute said.
The institute is keeping a close watch on the students of the first year who are going to be answering their examinations shortly for signs of fever, cough and difficulty in breathing.
Further, the VM Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE) has also reviewed its health guidance and temporary travel policy and implemented a number of initiatives.
The institute has directed their students who are on internship in different countries to return back and are advised to self-isolate for a period of 14 days.
Also, the American College of Culinary & Language Arts (ACCLA) has taken measures in wake of Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and have decided that no business travel to and from China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, France, Spain and Germany for now.
All international recruitment opportunities sourced for students of ACCLA have also been temporarily put on hold until a later date.
